About Laurie Arnold, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | Couples Therapist | Certified Discernment Counselor

Serving Arizona and Colorado

Hello! I’m Laurie Arnold, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families create meaningful, lasting change.

I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University (2004) and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado (2001). My practice is grounded in a strengths-based, hopeful approach: I believe every person and relationship has inherent resilience and the capacity to grow. By building on your unique strengths, we can address challenges effectively and move toward the connection and clarity you deserve.

Specializing in Couples Work In recent years, my focus has centered on couples because the health of the partnership profoundly influences the entire family. I am a Level 3 Trained Gottman Method Couples Therapist, using research-backed tools from Drs. John and Julie Gottman to help partners:

  • Break cycles of conflict and defensiveness
  • Rebuild friendship, trust, and intimacy
  • Manage differences with understanding and teamwork

I am also a certified Discernment Counselor, providing structured, short-term support for couples at a crossroads—especially when one partner is considering separation or divorce. This approach helps you gain clear, confident insight into your options: pursue reconciliation through intensive couples therapy, maintain the status quo, or move toward separation with compassion and care.

Whether you’re navigating recurring arguments, emotional distance, infidelity recovery, or uncertainty about the future, I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space for honest exploration and practical growth—via secure online telehealth across Arizona and Colorado.

A Bit About Me Personally Outside of sessions, I enjoy cheering on my daughter at her Unified Sports events, learning to play golf with my husband, reading with my book club, and tending (often unsuccessfully!) to my house plants. My family and I relocated to the Arizona desert during the pandemic after many years as Colorado natives—a change that reminded me how transitions can bring both challenges and new opportunities for growth.

If you’re ready to invest in your relationship or personal well-being, I’d be honored to support you. Reach out today to schedule a consultation and take that first step.
